New Hope for Kids - has been working with local children since 1977 and offers the only comprehensive grief program that works with both children and families in Centra Florida.  A year-long program of special activities helps children work through the problems that arise after a family death from illness, accident, homicide or suicide.  This is important because children who don't receive help often turn to drugs, alcolhol or risky behavior to overcome the pain.  Children who have suffered a death also are five times more likely to commit suicide.

The organizations Children's Wish program works with special needs children long after they have been granted their wish by offering a series of activities for them and their families.  To ensure continued community support, New Hope for Kids works hard to allocate more than 93% of all revenues directly to program support, not administrative costs.  For more informaiton on New Hope for Kids, visit www.NewHopeforKids.org.
